Returns & Refunds

Talepoint Books is a small, family-run shop. Because we sell printed books, hand-drawn cards, and stationery, some items can't be resold once their packaging is opened. Please read this policy before requesting a return.

Final sale (non-returnable)

The following items are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded once shipped:

  • Greeting cards and note cards.
  • Bookmarks.
  • Any plastic-wrapped book whose wrapping has been opened, torn, or removed.

When a book is returnable

A book is returnable only if it is still in its original plastic wrapping, fully intact and undamaged. If the wrapping has been opened or the book shows any wear, it is final sale and not eligible for a refund.

Return window

Returns must be requested within about 14 days of likely receipt of your order (roughly 21 days after we ship it). Because our carrier provides no delivery confirmation for Media Mail, we estimate delivery as 7 days after shipment; the window then runs through the review-link expiry plus 7days. Requests after this window can't be accepted.

Return shipping

The customer pays return shipping.We recommend a tracked, padded mailer so the item arrives in its original, undamaged wrapping. We can't refund items that are lost or damaged on the way back to us.

How refunds work

We don't use customer accounts, so all refunds are started by email. To request one:

  • Email us at orders@talepointbooks.com with your order number (it looks like TPB-12345) and what you'd like to return.
  • We'll confirm whether the item is eligible (a book in its original, intact wrapping, within the return window).
  • If eligible, you ship the item back at your own cost.
  • Once we receive the item and verify its integrity (wrapping intact and undamaged), we issue the refund to your original payment method through Stripe.

Refunds are only issued after the item is received and its condition verified — not at the time of the request.

Damaged or lost in transit

If your order arrives damaged, or appears lost in the mail, email us at orders@talepointbooks.com. Where applicable we'll file a USPS claim; otherwise we'll arrange a replacement or refund.
